Nagri Gunsa Airport is located at the Gunsa Township in GarZangbo (Shiquan River) Valley, 4,274 meters above sea level. It is a high altitude airport with an altitude ranking after Aden Daocheng Airport (4411 meters above sea level) , Qamdo Bangda Airport (4334 meters above sea level) and Kangding Airport (4280 meters above sea level). It can meet the requirements for taking off and landing of plateau aircrafts, such as Airbus A319 and other aircraft models. The designed annual passenger throughout is 120,000. Nagri Gunsa Airport was officially open to air traffic on July 1st, 2010, which will also be another important air access to Tibet after Lhasa Kongga International Airport,Qamdo Bangda Airport and Nyingchi Mainling Airport. The decoration of the airport highlights the ancient Zhang Zhung Culture in Nagri region.

On July 1st, 2010, Nagri Gunsa Airport was officially open to air traffic and the airline of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport-Lhasa Kongga International Airport-Nagri Gunsa Airport was officially available.

On April 29th, 2012, the scheduled flights for Xi'an Xianyang International Airport-Kashgar Airport-Nagri Gunsa Airport were available.

Nagri Gunsa Airport is equipped with Sfere3000 power monitoring system developed and manufactured by Jiangsu SFERE Electric Co., Ltd. The system has achieved such functions as data acquisition, condition monitoring, fault alarm, data storage and remote control and provided overall solution to integrated supervision and management of airport terminal substations, central substations, sewage treatment stations and garbage disposal stations in the airport.
