Akuo Energy launches the construction of a 17 MW floating solar plant in France

French independent power producer Akuo Energy is launching the construction of the first floating solar plant in France called »O’Mega 1«. Located in Piolenc (Vaucluse, southeast France), the 17 MW plant will be deployed on the lake in the Piolenc quarry and will be equipped with the »Hydrelio« floating structure by Ciel & Terre. The facility will be built by Bouygues Energies Services.

According to the company, to date, the Hydrelio technology developed worldwide by Ciel & Terre has a proven international track record with 235 MW of floating solar plants. Akuo Energy is the manufacturer and exclusive distributor of Ciel & Terre’s Hydrelio product in France.
