Precast ground beam system saves time and money, Aarsleff claims

Foundations specialist Aarsleff has introduced a new ground beam system manufactured by its subsidiary Centrum Pile

The new Centrum Ground Beam system is a precast concrete ground beam option that can be linked to the Aarsleff’s own piling system for continuity of foundation works or installed with other piling methods.

It is designed to replace in situ construction of ground beams, which are typically installed by follow-on trades. Aarsleff claims savings in both foundation design costs and time as well and says it is “perfect for residential-type development applications”.

Aarsleff claims that the system can be installed up to five-times faster than cast in situ methods.

The Centrum Ground Beam system can also be designed to suit specific building loads, eliminating the need to rely on ground capacity, and thus reducing the risk of foundation failure, it is claimed. It is a bespoke solution that can be tailored to suit various applications, the contractor says.

Additionally, ground beams can be set at higher levels, removing under-build costs and requiring less excavation work.
