3D COMMERCIAL LASER MEASUREMENT CENTER TO OPEN THIS MAY IN UK

ASDEC uses laser doppler vibrometry to serve automobile, aeronautical sectors

The first commercial 3D laser measurement and modal analysis scanning center is set to open in Nuneaton, UK this May. The Advanced Structural Dynamics Evaluation Collaborative (ASDEC) Research Center is set up to serve the automotive, defense, aerospace and power generation industries, with the goal of providing accurate and rapid vibration readings to design engineers. Laser doppler vibrometry is the effective technology that the ASDEC employs; it provides an accurate measurement of the deflection of laser beams as they strike vibrating objects. Its main advantage is the speed of reading;the ASDEC will allow large-area dynamic measurements to be taken in mere hours, in turn reducing product development times and time-to-market.
